Field Service Technician - COMBUSTION
Job Description
The Field Service Technician is responsible for start-ups, trouble-shooting, seminars, tune-ups, and other services.
Job Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for start-ups, commissioning, and trouble-shooting combustion systems
- Typical industries served are the steel, glass, chemical, petroleum, and ceramics, to name a few
- Working conditions vary, but is typical industrial plant environment. Conditions may be hot, cold, noisy, dusty, indoors or outdoors
- Proper personal protective clothing to be provided by Fives North American; with a work boot allowance
- Majority of travel will be within USA. Some travel outside USA
- Perform instrument loop checks
- Work on a wide variety of process control components and set-up and adjust mechanical and electrical equipment
- FivesNA will provide continued product education opportunities and this individual will be expected to keep current on their training, certifications andqualifications necessary to provide first-class service
- Maintain daily paperwork requirements, such as service reports
- Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs
Job Requirements
- 75% travel, mainly in USA, some world. Typical assignment length ranging from one day to three weeks
- Work weekends and holidays as necessary and instrumentation basics, and heat transfer
- Flexible; can handle schedule changes at a moments notice
- Customer-directed and service friendly
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
- Competent understanding of electrical wiring and instrumentation
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Must be able to work independently
- Good command of English, both written and spoken
- Computer application knowledge, including Internet applications and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), is recommended and may be required
- PLC experience a plus
- BSEE, BSME, or two year technical engineering discipline degree a plus
- Combustion experience a plus
