Field Service Technician GUIDING

Job Description

Fives North American, a leading supplier of strip and web guiding systems, is seeking a Field Service Technician located in Cleveland, OH. The Field Service Technician is a hands-on position responsible for providing telephone and on-site technical, product, and application support to customers around the world.

Job Responsibilities

Successful diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, start-up, and commissioning of web and strip guiding systems at customer sites and via telephone support.
Provide 24/7/365 telephone technical support to customers around the world.
Work on electro-mechanical and hydraulic equipment, closed-loop controls, and PLC’s
Effectively manage customer expectations.
Working conditions vary, but is typical industrial plant environment. Conditions may be hot, cold, noisy, dusty, indoors or outdoors.
Travel as necessary to meet customer demand, up to 60% of time. Trips are typically one to seven days in duration. Majority of travel will be within USA. Some international travel.
Ability to lift 50-75+ lbs.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Exceptional customer service professionalism. Ability to multi-task and balance customer needs.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Respond to customer telephone calls whenever required. Work weekends and holidays as necessary.
Self-directed. Confident. Goal oriented and self-motivated. Strives for continual improvement.
Flexible. Can orchestrate schedule changes at a moments notice.
Understands and troubleshoots electrical schematics, electrical wiring, instrumentation, PLCs, and closed-loop control systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude. Electro-mechanical and hydraulic equipment experience (preferred).
Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Computer application knowledge, including Internet applications and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
One- to five-years industrial work experience in engineering or technical discipline (preferred).
Engineering or Technical four-year degree (BSEE, BSME preferred).
Desire to expand responsibilities and grow into Engineering or Sales.
